  • 2009 Rising Star Award, African Nova Scotian Music Association Award Show (ANSMA)

Classic jazz, silky smooth with a gospel touch, that's the music in me. My voice and songs inspire my audience so much so that they cannot resist the urge to sing along and participate in this engaging soulful musical experience. Music is magic! Music is my passion!

When Pat Watson sings she makes the music dance in the imagination and delight the soul. The purity of her voice, combined with her style and grace, won her the Rising Star Award for 2009 from the African Nova Scotia Music Association. She was also honoured with an invitation to perform on the Discovery Stage for new artists at the East Coast Music Awards.

Pat’s passions are gospel and jazz. She sings with the Nova Gospel Ensemble, and has toured Nova Scotia as a member of the South Shore Women in Jazz. She’s been singing most of her life. She remembers a recurring dream she had as a child. “I’d be sitting in the audience, watching myself sing on stage. And I’d be on stage, watching myself in the audience.” Her audiences today enjoy an incredible musical experience.

Pat performs with John Bird (keyboard), Luke Domm (saxophone), Dave Harrison (flugelhorn), Steve MacNeil (bass) and Dave Skinner (drums). Pat has directed gospel music workshops for The Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival and various churches in Nova Scotia. She has conducted jazz and gospel workshops for The Harmony Bazaar Women's Festival.
Pat performed at the Lunenburg Session Series and the Sister Fair Festival. She has also performed for various fund raising events.

Among her honors, she’s especially proud of performing for two Lieutenant Governor's of Nova Scotia, The Hon. Mayann Francis and The Hon. Myra Freeman.
