Jamie Sparks is a solo contemporary R&B artist from Cherry Brook, Nova Scotia now based in Halifax. Jamie has been writing since 1990 and the solid and extremely marketable tunes he self-produces are a testament to his untiring work. On November 8th, 1996, Jamie had a release party in Halifax, NS and unveiled a seven track EP “Jamie Sparks-Git Wit You”. In 1998, Jamie won an ECMA Award for Dance/Hip-Hop Artist. He was a feature performer on the nationally televised CBA Awards Gala Show. He was featured in the June 6th, 1998 issue of Bill Board Magazine and the May and August issues of The Record Magazine.

The first single, “Can I Get Your Number” from his highly anticipated CD “The Time”, averaged medium rotation at AC/CHR radio across the country. The video has been added into rotation with Much Music and eventually BET. The CD is available at HMV nationwide. Sparks is a solid vocalist and a talented entertainer with a well produced and choreographed live show.

No stranger to awards, Jamie has received the Montréal’s Jazz Festival’s Award of Excellence, the Professional Publishers and Songwriter Award, and multiple ECMA and ANSMA awards. His music has most recently been heard on the Fox network shows “American Embassy”, “24” and on ESPN.

“Fun Tonight” has sold thousands of copies and yielded four videos. His hot new single from the album Scotia Mix Vol. 1 “Gonna Get Down” has already won an ECMA for urban single Recording of the Year 2006.
