Ced Upshaw and Marty Williams formed in 2009 as Ced and Marty. Marty was looking for someone who could play guitar, sing, and had the musical knowledge to play the Blues in an acoustic style similar to Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee. After only their first practice, they expanded their repertoire from Blues to Ballads and some Folk music. Their song list includes Howling Wolf, Hank Williams, Michael Buble, Eric Clapton and a few of their own original songs.
Ced & Marty are equally comfortable playing in large venues, concert halls or unplugged in a living room. The compactness and the portability of their instruments allow them to adapt to the venue.
Since their formation, Ced & Marty have performed at: Celtic Corner –Dartmouth N.S, Stayner’s – Halifax N.S, Oasis Pub and Grill – Halifax N.S, Henley House – Sheet Harbour N.S, The 2010 and 2011 African Nova Scotia Music Awards and Windsor Summer Series and Benefits though out Nova Scotia.
